Do you drink coffee or tea?

Coffee.

What part of the world are you from?

Tasmania, Australia.

What is city is home at the moment?

Currently living in Sydney, Australia.

How did you first get into MMA Fighting?

I started at BJJ with my brother in law, later moving to the Gold Coast and the gym I was training at had MMA classes. I was always watching the MMA fighters train and was intrigued, so I built up the courage to try it and one class is all it took to spark a new passion!

Your main flaw?

Snacking out in the evening. You can’t be around me without getting dragged into a snackathon.

What scares you? And what makes you angry?

Standing in front of a massive ocean swell and watching the waves crash onto rocks. Something about seeing the power of the ocean really scares me. In other circumstances, fear is useful because it helps you adapt to situations and find a favorable outcome. When it comes to making me angry... it’s basically impossible! I’m known as the gentle giant because even though I’m big and look scary, I’m always super calm and placid.

As an MMA fighter, what does your fitness regimen look like?

MMA training 5-6 days a week, whether it is wrestling, kickboxing or MMA. Normally there will be a grappling and a striking session per day. Then on top of that, there is strength and conditioning stuff which is lower intensity but supplementary to MMA which is 6 days a week.

What would be your super power?

I would definitely choose the ability to fly. That would be ultimate freedom. If you ever find yourself in a conversation with someone that you don’t want to be having, just boost off into the sky.

Do you feel like a champion?

Every day.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is a bit of a skater-esque 90’s vibe. I love Japanese labels like Sophnet and Wtaps.

Do MMA fighters pay a lot of attention to their grooming in the locker rooms after their events?

MMA is a sport with such a versatile field of competitors from all ages and all walks of life, so some people absolutely pay a lot of attention to their grooming, whereas others... not so much.

What was your latest stylish purchase?

The latest is a black hoody by Bedwin And The Heartbreakers and some black cargo pants by Carhartt.

What are your favorite labels?

Carhartt is my staple brand, all my t-shirts and pants are Carhartt. Then I love brands like Sophnet., Wtaps, Y-3 and new balance (made in UK models) for sneakers. Doc Martin’s for boots.

Do you think it’s important for a man to be sexy?

Sexy is subjective; confidence in themselves and displaying sexiness in the way they perceive it is, I think, a key to self-confidence.

Name a woman you find most desirable?

Also subjective... a scientist or something that can tell me things about the universe.

What cologne do you wear if any?

Guilty by Gucci.

Motorcycle or car?

Car, the Nissan Z Series is my favorite.

Do you read books? If so what was the last one?

I’m not big into fiction, but I do read. Currently, I am re-reading ‘brief answers to the big questions’ authored by Stephen Hawkins.

Is there a quote that speaks to you?

“It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable”—Socrates.

Dogs or cats?

I am a lover of all animals, but I’d have a cat over a dog.

What qualities do you seek in your male friends?

Honesty and integrity.

Pasta.

Who do you think are the most exciting people in the world today?

I think the most exciting people are the ones behind the scenes, researching and experimenting in areas of science like medicine, physics and IT to advance the world. They also don’t get enough attention in the mainstream!

What accomplishment are you mostproud of at the moment?

I don’t have a specific one. I see my life so far as a running tab and each achievement is just a dot on the timeline of something greater. And I am proud in general so far.

What social issue are you most passionate about?

Animal welfare is number 1 for me. Animals are innocent creatures just trying to survive.

A place to lose yourself?

That place is on the mats at training.

What would your perfect night be like?

Cooking a massive dish of pasta and salad, watching an epic thunder storm roll across the sky and then retiring to sleep listening to the rain.

What do you wear to sleep?

Nothing.

What would you like the legacy of your career to be?

I’m not exactly sure, but something that my future children would be proud to tell people ‘that’s my dad.

What makes a perfect man?

Someone who has personal integrity and honors themselves and those around them.
