MR. MILES BUGBY

What are your first thoughts on awakening in the morning?

Generally food.

Do you drink coffee or tea?

Being a typical Brit I love my tea. I don’t drink coffee.

Friday or Sunday?

Sunday funday.

Bath or Shower?

Shower.

How were you chosen to model?

A friend of mine took me to her agency (Next Model Management) in New York. They took my headshots and sent them to London where I signed.

An awkward or humbling moment from a shoot you worked on?

I once got stopped in the street by a photographer outside my agency in New York. He said I would be great for this underwear campaign he had been asked to photograph, so took me to his beautiful studio across the road to take some shots. I felt quite honoured someone had stopped me in the street to pitch a job, so I told my agency and turns out I wasn’t so special after all. They told me to be careful as he had done this with a lot of the guys at the agency and that there potentially was no underwear campaign.

Your main flaw?

Too trusting.

Who or what inspired you to pursue acting?

My good friend Alex Pettyfer. I am proud of what he achieved at such a young age. Being on set with him gave me the itch.

Do you have any secret desire to work with a certain director?

There are so many fantastic directors out there that I would love to work with. However, I would probably go with Tom Ford or Doug Liman because they both love tennis. I heard Doug actually built a tennis court on set during one of the Bourne movies.

As a former tennis player, where do you see the parallels with acting?

There are a lot of similarities between the two. Firstly, I would say as a tennis player you have to become a good loser as most players will experience that week to week. Actors will also audition for lots of roles and only land one every so often. So, in short both tennis players and actors have to be able to deal with the loses and to keep fighting for the wins. Other key attributes, dedication, motivation, focus, following direction, punctuality, understanding movement of the body and breathing to name a few.

Do you have any secret desire for a particular role?

It’s a bit cliché but it would have to be James Bond. I think every British actor dreams of that role.

Do you like risk?

As someone that is working on my fear of failure, I wouldn’t say I take huge risks. However, I think it’s important to put yourself out of your comfort zone because that will help you improve and grow as a person.

As a former Tennis player, what does your fitness regimen look like?

I typically enjoy full body, high intensity training. This way I am keeping pretty fit all round.

Tennis players definitely like to look after themselves and be presentable.
